We have had a pretty busy time just lately.
On the 17th August we travelled down to Bingara to stay with Big Grandma and Big Poppa. While there we met up with mummy and daddys friends (from when they had a life ;) ) It was good fun - Daddy played music and mummy gossiped and caught up with what was happening around town.
On the Friday night Little Grandma, Uncle Ian, Aunty Jen and Aunty Kell arrived in Bingara around 3am - Mummy waited up for them - she was tired ;) The next day was the 19th August which just happened to be Aunty Jens' 19th B'day and Big Poppas 90th B'day!! Can you imagine living that long?? Neither can Big Poppa ;)
We figured the day wasn't going to go quite as planned when Aunty Kell broke the key off in the lock around 3.30am. Uncle Ian and Daddy tried to find a locksmith in Bingara (ha what a joke!) and had to drive up to Inverell (45mins away!) and hope the key worked when they returned! In the meantime mummy and Grandma and Kell and Jen made them selves look pretty in the backyard...using extensions cords and hand mirrors and copious amounts of alcohol!! It certainly gave the neighbours something to talk about - and gave Big Grandma heart palpitations!!
Eventually daddy and Ian arrived back - in time to find out that mummy had opened up Ians car with the housekeys! Luckily the new cut key fit and we all went off to Inverell to meet up with the rest of the family and celebrate Big Poppas 90th B'day.
It was great to meet up with our cousins and auntys/uncles that we hadn't seen in years!! Mummy especially loved seeing her cousin Brett and his partner Carly and their little boy Caleb. We all had many fun times together - especially after we lured them over to Grandmas and Poppas to stay for a few days. We all ended up getting on so well...(and apparently mummy and daddy needed to sober up - whatever that means!) and stayed a few days longer than we planned. It was do good to get back to a slower way of life - no school, no work - no hassles. Everyone was so much happier and more relaxed.
Unfortunately we couldn't stay forever, so we came hom via Cuninghams Gap and went for a bushwalk on the way. The view form the lookout was amazing - well worth the scares we got fromt eh rock wallabies along the way! Ethan nearly lost his boot 3 times, but he yelled enought to let us know!
Then we had Fathers Day, where of course your daddy got spoilt rotten ;) He bought himself a new "momo" jacket and gloves...along with the treasures that he got from the school stall. This yr he got lucky with a little clock and a scoobie keyring which was in the shape of a letter "D" for Daddy :-)
Yesterday we went to Brisbane and visited the QLD Museum and Science Centre, It was so much fun!! After we had finished exploring and "oohing" and "ahhing' we stopped off at Southbank at the 'beach' We did see the big dugong, but didn't have time to stop and contribute!
The highlight of our trip was of course the train trip!! That was what we had all been looking forward to. It didn't start off all that well. We though we were late, so mummy and daddy were rushing us - turns out they were doing line maitenance and so we were actually delayed by almost 1/2 hr. Luckily we were well behaved and mummy and daddy weren't tempted to take us home!
Today (Sunday) it has been raining. We need the rain so badly! Our dams are all down below the 29% mark and falling fast - hopefully we can get enough to add some %%% to our dams.
It has been a very slow day. We went for a drive with Uncle Ian and cousin Ryley. We went out to see Aunty Jade riding her horse. I think they must have been pretty wet out there!!
Daddy has been playing Xbox all day...we have been trying not to kill each other - and trying not to send mummy too crazy - not sure if it has worked...mummy IS in the corner rocking back and forwards mumbling to herself....
